Longwood Flower Show
District I of GCFP holds a Flower Show at Longwood Gardens every other year.  All members of Spade and Trowel Club, along with the other District I club members, are invited to exhibit in this show. Â
Â
The purpose of a flower show is to:
-
set standards of artistic and horticultural excellence,
-
broaden knowledge of horticulture, flower arrangement, conservation, and other related areas, andÂ
-
share the beauty of a show with fellow club members and the public.Â
Flower shows combine artistic vision, horticultural mastery, engineering, and sophisticated craftsmanship to create a brief but brilliant display of beauty in time.
Judging is according to National Garden Club, Inc. Standard System of Awarding, and the Handbook for Flower Shows.Â
